Minerva Gas partners Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center

Greek ship management company Minerva Gas and Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping signed a mission partnership agreement as a formal recognition of their joint commitment for the decarbonization of the global maritime industry.

Wärtsilä inks Minerva LNG tankers maintenance deal

Greek ship management company Minerva Gas and Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping signed a mission partnership agreement as a formal recognition of their joint commitment for the decarbonization of the global maritime industry.

As informed, the partners will work on facilitating and accelerating the development and implementation of new technology solutions towards decarbonization in the shipping sector.

The Greek company will become part of the center’s network and information flow and will have access to the center’s learnings, knowledge and research and development activities.

“Decarbonization is a significant challenge for shipping and requires cooperation and cross-sector collaboration. We look forward to working closely with the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, sharing our shipping experience and knowledge towards exploring together new technologies and solutions that can accelerate our transition to a low carbon future,” Sokratis Dimakopoulos , COO of Minerva Gas said.

To remind, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center was established in June 2020 by Maersk, ABS, Cargill, MAN Energy Solutions, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, NYK Lines and Siemens Energy.

The initiative is focusing on the development of new fuel types and technologies as the industry charts its path toward achieving the IMO 2050 target.

During the year, numerous industry players joined the center including Total , Alfa Laval , Norden , Haldor Topsoe , Seaspan Corporation , Danish Shipping as well as oil and gas major BP .

Recently, the center was joined by US-based Eagle Bulk Shipping to provide support to the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center’s work on decarbonization journey.
