Norway: November oil output sinks below predictions

Norway’s oil production in November 2021 fell behind the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s predictions by 5 per cent due to technical issues, while the gas output also experienced a decrease compared to October.

Preliminary production figures for November 2021 show an average daily production of 1 999 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, based on the NPD’s report on Tuesday.

Total gas sales were 10.1 billion Sm 3 (GSm 3 ), which is a decrease of 0.4 GSm 3 from the previous month.

Production November 2021

Average daily liquids production in November was: 1 729 000 barrels of oil, 257 000 barrels of NGL and 13 000 barrels of condensate.

Oil production in November is 5.0 per cent lower than the NPD’s forecast, and 0.5 per cent higher than the forecast so far this year. The main reason that production in November was below forecast is technical problems.

The total petroleum production so far in 2021 is about 210,8 million Sm 3 oil equivalents (MSm 3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 93.2 MSm 3 o.e. of oil, about 14.1 MSm 3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 103.6 MSm 3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is 2.8 higher than the 2020-figures.
