Hiroshima Gas receives 1st CNLNG cargo from Petronas

Malaysia’s energy company Petronas has delivered a carbon-neutral LNG (CNLNG) cargo to the Japanese company Hiroshima Gas.

Malaysia LNG, a subsidiary of Petronas , successfully delivered this carbon-neutral LNG cargo, which is Hiroshima Gas’ first.

Petronas says the partnerships in CNLNG solution show its commitment as an LNG provider to advance a sustainability agenda. In addition, this represents a continuity of the commitment towards becoming a sustainable solutions partner to its customers.

Hiroshima Gas’ management says this CNLNG delivery matches their philosophy to be a trustworthy company that serves the communities.

Moreover, this grows the 16-year relationship between the energy companies.

Petronas vice president Shamsairi Ibrahim said, “Providing cleaner energy solutions through carbon offsets will not only positively impact the LNG industry but will also create sustainable value for businesses, societies and the world at large.”

HG senior executive officer Kazunori Tamura added: “PETRONAS’ ability to provide such solution is certainly essential to ensure we are on track in our sustainability goals. We are pleased to have collaborated with PETRONAS for our first CNLNG cargo.”
