Tidal Range Alliance appoints new chair

The Tidal Range Alliance (TRA) has appointed Prosperity Energy’s business growth director Ioan Jenkins as its chairman.

Jenkins started the position on 1 January, succeeding Henry Dixon, chairman of North Wales Tidal Energy.

The new chairman will chair his first meeting of the working group today, 13 January.

Prosperity Energy works with investment partners to enable the growth of the green energy sector and, as the company describes, provides an alternative financial delivery model to renewable energy project development companies and manufacturers within the sector.

The Welsh company cooperates with project developers on fully funded, large-scale renewable energy projects in offshore and onshore wind, hydrogen, solar, manufacturing and marine.

“As a proud Welsh man, I am passionate about Wales and the opportunity that we have to generate economic and social prosperity by nurturing investment in renewable energy,” Jenkins states.

“Onshore and offshore wind, solar, hydro, tidal and marine all provide significant opportunity to connect projects with investment; we are here and ready to make it happen.”

The TRA is a formal working group within the British Hydropower Agency that gathers developers, companies, supply chain businesses, and individuals involved in or with an interest in tidal range energy projects in the UK and overseas.
