Swedish wave energy developer CorPower Ocean has been selected from 600 companies to appear at the forthcoming Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day, established to support the scale-up of sustainable businesses.
The event, taking place on March 22, 2022, at Norra Latin in Stockholm, is considered one of the leading Swedish capital market days for scale-up of sustainable technologies companies to meet Swedish and international investors.
It presents a unique opportunity to meet carefully selected sustainable technologies companies that show rapid sales growth and have matured beyond seed investment stage – from A-round level companies to recently listed companies in a variety of sustainable technology sectors.
A total of 600 of such companies were initially reviewed before reaching a final selection of 140 firms, based on criteria including a viable product or service to sell, and an international business model.
CorPower will appear as one of 31 carefully selected unlisted sustainable technologies companies, presenting its own specific business case for the role of wave energy , and its impact on the future energy transition.
Linda Krondahl , project manager for Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day, said: “Now more than ever it is clear that we need to let ourselves loose from dependence of fossil energy, not just for the climate, but also to not be politically tied to undemocratic and totalitarian regimes.
“We are happy that we this year chose the theme Electrification and there are many interesting things to discuss in the light of the world’s development right now. It is also highly relevant that the event will be inaugurated by our Minister of Energy Khashayar Farmanbar.”
The event is being staged by Stockholm Innovation and Growth (Sting), the Swedish Energy Agency, City of Stockholm, Cleantech Scandinavia, NEFCO, Tillväxtverket, ABG Sundahl Collier, SEB, Nasdaq and Realtid, with other partners.
