Dutch floating solar specialist SolarDuck has named Francisco Guillermo Vozza as its new chief commercial officer.

Vozza is a seasoned business development and strategy leader, who brings nearly two decades of top tier international experience from the energy industry to SolarDuck.

SolarDuck is developing an offshore floating solar technology, having already deployed a 65kW triangular-shaped demonstrator platform at IJzendoorn in the Netherlands.

The company’s floating solar demonstrator, installed in April 2021, received Approval in Principle (AiP) from the certification group Bureau Veritas , deemed as the world’s first for offshore floating solar energy and marking the beginning of a new era for this form of renewable energy.

“With Francisco Vozza’s leadership and vision, SolarDuck will catapult its growth ambitions in its journey to electrify the world with offshore floating solar” , the company said in a statement.

Aside from the demonstrator in the Netherlands, SolarDuck has near-term plans to develop additional projects in the country, as well as in South East Asia eventually.

In that regard, SolarDuck teamed up with Pondera in September 2021 to jointly explore the development of 555MWp of offshore solar projects over the coming years.
