Elogen and Valmax partner for green hydrogen solutions in Korea

French tech company for PEM electrolysis Elogen and Korean energy solutions firm Valmax have signed a collaboration deal for the commercialisation of green hydrogen solutions in Korea.

The collaboration agreement specifically refers to the supply of electrolysers in Korea to produce green hydrogen.

As part of this collaboration, Valmax will locally assemble the balance-of-plant of Elogen’s electrolysers and work with local certification companies such as Korea Gas Safety Corporation for their approval and implementation. Jean-Baptiste Choimet , managing director of Elogen, said: “With this new partnership, Elogen will contribute to the development of the green hydrogen market in Korea. Korea is one of the most active countries in the world for hydrogen developments, with a strong political support as showcased in the Hydrogen Economy Roadmap and Zero-Carbon ambitions…Elogen has the ambition to contribute significantly to the numerous projects linked to clean mobility and industry in the country.”

Park Dong Yeol , CEO of Valmax Technology Corporation, added: “In the context of the rapid development of green hydrogen worldwide and the implementation of the Zero-Carbon 2050 objective, the partnership between Valmax and Elogen will contribute to this mission in Korea.”

Elogen in Australia and New Zealand Earlier this week, Elogen also announced the signing of collaboration with HiFraser Group for the cmmercialization of electrolysers in Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement ensures the supply of electrolysers in Australia and New Zealand to produce green hydrogen.

As part of this collaboration, HIFraser will locally assemble the balance-of-plant of Elogen’s electrolysers and will adapt them to Australian standards and the requirements. HIFraser will also accompany the customers with maintenance support after delivery of the electrolysis units.

In Australia and New Zealand, the potential applications for green hydrogen production are varied, ranging from uses such as stored renewable energy in industries such as gas to carbon-free fuel for transport.

Choimet commented: “ With this new partnership, Elogen will enter the Australian market. With a strong potential for affordable solar energy supply, Australia is well positioned to become a world leader in the production of green hydrogen… This partnership will enable to offer attractive and localized solutions in Australia, thanks to HIFraser engineering and assembly know-how. ”
