Chief executive officer (CEO) of Heerema Fabrication Group and Heerema Marine Contractors has announced his departure from the role at the end of this month.
Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven will leave Heerema as CEO on 31 May 2022. Van Brouwershaven was the CEO of Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) since 2013 and also the CEO of Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) since 2018 . Later that year, HFG revealed its intention to dispose of its activities at the locations in Zwijndrecht (The Netherlands) and Hartlepool (United Kingdom).
Van Brouwershaven’s departure, after almost 10 years with the company, was announced by Heerema earlier this week.
Van Brouwershaven: “I have worked with passion and dedication at this professional company for almost ten years. Over the past few years, we have strategically repositioned ourselves under difficult market conditions, thereby creating the conditions for continued success in the future. In recent months, I have come to the conclusion that the completion of this repositioning is a natural moment for me to resign from my position as CEO of Heerema and focus on new challenges.”

Koos Jan has led our company through difficult years and he has made a very important contribution to the development of Heerema, including in shaping our sustainable strategy. In recent company-related news, Heerema Marine Contractors revealed that its largest crane vessels, Sleipnir and Thialf, had officially switched from using their engines to using shore power , which enables vessels to switch off their engines and plug into the electrical grid for their energy supply.
