India’s Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MSPGCL) has issued a Request for Proposals (RfP) inviting bids to select a solar power developer for setting up a 105MW grid-connected floating solar project.
The floating solar project is to be installed at Erai Dam Solar Park in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.
Under the contract, the selected developer will set up the floating solar PV project including the transmission network up to the pooling substation at its own cost and in accordance with the provisions of the RfP document.
The developer will also be responsible for all approvals, permits and clearances required for setting up the project including those required from the state government and local bodies.
Additionally, the scope of work includes providing commercially established and operational technologies to minimise the risk and achieve the timely commissioning of the project.
Furthermore, MSPGCL will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidder for the purchase of solar power for a period of 25 years based on the terms, conditions, and provisions of the RfP.
As stated in the tender, power procured by the MSPGCL from this project will be sold to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL).
The selected bidder should declare the project’s capacity utilisation factor (CUF) at the time of the PPA, with the option of revising it once within the first year of commissioning.
According to the company, the RfP is a part of the Indian government’s target to achieve a cumulative capacity of 100GW solar photovoltaic (PV) installation by the year 2022 under National Solar Mission.
The deadline for submitting the bids online has been set for 15 July 2022.
