Offshore accommodation rig provider Prosafe has secured a contract extension for one of its units with BP in Trinidad and Tobago.

Prosafe said on Wednesday that BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) has exercised all four weeks of options for the Safe Concordia . As a result, the accommodation unit will continue providing gangway-connected operations through September 2022 at Cassia Compression (Cassia C) project offshore Trinidad.

The total value of the contract extensions is approximately $3.5 million.

Prosafe secured this contract with BP in Trinidad in February 2022 for the duration of 160 days plus up to four weeks of options. This was in continuation of the vessel’s contract at Cassia C.

Safe Concordia is a DP2 semi-submersible ASV with 389 (461 with ALQ) beds for worldwide operations excluding Norway. The vessel was constructed at Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore and delivered in March 2005. An upgrade was completed in July 2015.

The Cassia C platform is located 57 kilometres off the southeast coast of Trinidad and this is BP’s 16th offshore facility in Trinidad and Tobago. The first gas from the facility was previously expected in 3Q 2021 but the platform was installed in late July 2021 and the first gas is now expected during this year.

Gas production from the Greater Cassia Area will be routed to the Cassia C platform for compression before being transported via the adjacent existing Cassia B platform.
