The Testing Expertise and Access for Marine Energy Research (TEAMER) program, supported by the US Department of Energy (DOE), is now accepting applications for the eighth request for technical support (RFTS).
According to TEAMER, the applications will be accepted through 14 October 2022 while RFTS 7 applications are being reviewed.
Directed by the Pacific Ocean Energy Trust, TEAMER accelerates the viability of marine renewables by providing access to the best facilities and expertise in the United States to solve critical challenges, build knowledge, foster innovation, and drive commercialization.
Application for the RFTS 7 ended in July this year, shortly after marine energy projects were selected to receive technical support as part of TEAMER’s sixth call for applications.
The awards reflect a total funding amount of approximately $1 million, TEAMER program informed at the time.
Selected applicants include E-Wave Technologies, IProTech, Virginia Tech, Ocean Motion Technologies (OMT), Vortex Hydro Power as well as four universities.
Recently, the University of Rhode Island (URI) joined the program , allowing developers to conduct tests at URI’s wave tank, wave-current flume, and acoustic tank free of charge.
