Houston-based steel fabricator and service provider to the industrial and energy sectors, Gulf Island Fabrication, has secured a new contract for an undisclosed offshore project located in the Gulf of Mexico.

Gulf Island reported on Thursday that it was awarded – what it deemed to be – a large fabrication contract for an offshore project in the Gulf of Mexico. No further information about the project has been revealed at this point.

While the firm did not provide any financial details about this deal, it did confirm that the estimated contract value would be included in its consolidated new awards and backlog within its financial results for the third quarter of 2022.

When it comes to Gulf Island’s recent activities, it is worth noting that the company informed about the reduction in its board size earlier this year and disclosed the name of its new chairman of the board of directors to replace Michael A. Flick .

In addition, the U.S. player acquired the business assets and operations of DSS from Dynamic Industries in December 2021.

This was done in a bid to pursue new growth opportunities to diversify its services business, increase skilled labour workforce, and create new revenue synergy opportunities.
