Brazil’s oil and gas player Enauta has restarted production from three wells located on a field offshore Brazil and expects the production to stabilise over the incoming period.
Enauta revealed on Wednesday that all three wells on the Atlanta field had come into operation. The company further elaborated that the field was in the process of commissioning a new water treatment plant and stabilising production.
This announcement comes less than a week after Enauta resumed production through one of the three wells on the Atlanta field , following preventive interruption of production at the field in late August 2022. This took place a little over a week after the field returned to production as it was offline during scheduled downtime , which started in July 2022.
At the time, the Brazilian player explained that the shutdown for maintenance was undertaken to comply with the Ministry of Labor’s normative requirements and prepare the FPSO Petrojarl I , currently, operating on the field, to be recertified by DNV (Det Norske Veritas).
Once the recertification is out of the way, a two-year contract extension will enable the FPSO’s continued operation until the entry of the Full Development System (FDS) , which is foreseen by mid-2024. At this point, a vessel named FPSO Atlanta – currently being converted at Dubai Drydocks World – will be deployed at the Atlanta field. Following conversion, the vessel will be operated under ABS Class .
Located in block BS-4 in the Santos Basin , at a 1,500-metre water depth, the Atlanta field is operated by Enauta Energia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, which also has a 100 per cent interest in this asset. The field’s reserves are estimated at 106 MMbbl.
