Norway records lower oil and gas output in September

Norway’s oil and gas production fell behind the NPD’s predictions in September 2022 and is lower than the figures from August.

Norway cuts down oil and gas output in September

Norway’s oil and gas production fell behind the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s predictions in September 2022 and is lower than the figures from August. However, the country’s gas production is still slightly higher than last year.

Preliminary production figures for September 2022 show an average daily production of 1 832 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, based on the NPD’s report on Thursday.

Total gas sales were 9.1 billion Sm3 (GSm3), a decrease of 1.6 (GSm3) from the previous month .

Average daily liquids production in September was: 1 642 000 barrels of oil, 170 000 barrels of NGL and 19 000 barrels of condensate.

Oil production in September is 9.5 per cent lower than the NPD’s forecast and 5.2 per cent lower than the forecast so far this year.

The forecasts for gas and NGL have been updated in line with the government’s prognosis for production in the revised national budget.

Production figures September 2022

The total petroleum production so far in 2022 is about 172.6 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 72.1 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 9.1 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 91.4 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is 1.9 MSm3 o.e. higher than in 2021.
