Excelerate Energy signs extension agreement for FSRU Explorer

US-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Excelerate Energy has secured a 5-year extension of its time charter agreement with Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) for the FSRU Explorer.

Commenting on the announcement, Excelerate said it looks forward to continuing the partnership with DUSUP and remains committed to providing Dubai with the energy security it needs.

According to data on Excelerate’s website, the vessel, located at DUSUP’s Jebel Ali LNG import terminal, has 150,900 m3 of LNG storage capacity.

Excelerate said the vessel has become an important part of Dubai’s integrated natural gas supply infrastructure.
