MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a large order to supply comprehensive packages of roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) equipment for two dual-fuel LNG pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) being built for RoRo shipping company Sallaum Lines.
The vessels are Sallaum Lines’ first-ever newbuilds and will be built at China’s Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding.
As part of the order that was booked into Cargotec’s 2023 first-quarter orders, the company’s scope of supply encompasses design, supply and installation support of RoRo and car deck equipment to these vessels. This includes electrically operated external and internal ramps, liftable car decks, covers and doors for the two new PCTCs.

The ships will have a total length of 199.9 metres, a molded width of 38 metres, a molded depth of 14.8 metres, and a maximum draft of 10 metres.
They will burn LNG on their dual-fuel main engines and will be fitted with single bow thrusters, and electric RoRo systems. As informed, the cargo hold will be equipped with 13 vehicle decks.
The vessels are scheduled to be delivered to the shipowner between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the second quarter of 2026.
