UK-headquartered oil and gas exploration and production company Trinity Exploration & Production has restarted production from one of its platforms at an oil field offshore Trinidad following a shutdown that was caused by a fire incident.
Trinity revealed on 12 April that it had shut down production from its Bravo platform at the Trintes field, offshore the east coast of Trinidad due to a generator-related fire that occurred two days prior.
The fire was “successfully and quickly” extinguished and the platform was subsequently evacuated. However, production from the other Trintes platforms – Delta and Alpha – was also shut down as a precautionary measure.
Following approval from Trinidad’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries received on 17 April, the company restored oil production from all previously producing wells on the Bravo platform on 18 April.
As previously reported, Alpha and Delta platforms restarted oil production from all previously producing wells on 11 April.
Before the incident, oil production from the Bravo platform accounted for approximately 350 bopd. Total Trintes field production is approximately 1,010 bopd.
Trinity has been operating and producing offshore the east coast of Trinidad since 2013. The company’s assets are operated under the Galeota exploration and production license agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries within the Columbus basin.
