UK-headquartered energy giant BP has handed out a contract to Danos, a U.S.-based energy services provider, to renew drilling logistical services for the oil major’s Gulf of Mexico assets.
The new contract, which builds on a relationship between Danos and BP that began in 2017, will enable the U.S. player to oversee the coordination of materials and personnel to and from multiple locations, ensuring streamlined and efficient logistical support.

This comes after Danos signed a separate contract with BP in 2023 to perform work across five assets in the Gulf of Mexico, enlisting several of its energy systems and project services, including coatings and insulation, construction, fabrication, scaffolding and rope access, instrumentation and electrical, and valve services.
Prior to this, the U.S. firm won another Gulf of Mexico deal in August 2022 for Eni’s Gulf of Mexico platforms. That same year, Danos also secured an opportunity to support the Promethean Decommissioning Company (PDC) and Petrofac alliance to decommission multiple facilities in shallow water fields in the Gulf of Mexico.
