E&S Tankers, a Germany-based joint venture between shipping companies Essberger Tankers and Stolt Tankers, has marked the start of 2024 with a new fleet addition.

The company has taken delivery of the Eberhart Essberger, the third of E&S Tankers’ four newbuildings.

The delivery ceremony for the 6,600 dwt LNG dual-fuel chemical tanker took place at China Merchant Jinling Shipyard on January 3, 2024.

Flying the flag of Portugal, the 7,500 cbm tanker features a length of 120 meters and a beam of 17 meters.

Back in 2021, German shipowner John T. Essberger Group ordered four 6,600 dwt stainless steel parcel chemical tankers in China, with options for an additional four vessels.

Last month, the JV christened the first of four LNG-fueled units, the Liselotte Essberger.

The second ship from the batch, the John T. Essberger , was launched in June 2023.

The Heinrich Essberger, the final ship in the series, is scheduled to be completed in February 2024, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
