NTPC, formerly known as the National Thermal Power Corporation, is inviting bids for a 15 MW floating solar plant at Maroda Reservoir-1 in Chhattisgarh, India.

The 15 MW floating solar project is set to be located at Maroda Reservoir-1, near the Bhilai Steel Plant of NSPCL, a joint venture between NTPC and Steel Authority of India (SAIL), which supplies power to SAIL’s steel plants in India.

For the floating solar project in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, the main tasks include its development, providing and setting up the equipment, managing the power output, and offering maintenance services that are expected for 3 years.

The project should be finished within 12 months and will be funded through equity and loans secured by NSPCL. NTPC released the tender on January 5, 2024. The tender documents can be purchased starting January 10, 2024, and the deadline for bid submission is February 9, 2024.
