Lithuanian Klaipeda LNG terminal operator KN Energies, formerly Klaipedos Nafta, has announced that there is available unused LNG terminal capacity for booking.
The company said that, having received a request from one of the terminal users regarding the planned non-utilization of LNG terminal capacities, there are available terminal capacities for booking.
Size of spot cargo is 1 000 000 000 kWh +- 5%, KN noted, adding that requests for different sizes of cargo are considered.
The cargo LNG regasification capacity usage period is from February 17 or 24 until April 5, and the cargo delivery window is March 7-8 or another date agreed with the terminal operator.
The closing date and time for submitting requests to allocate these capacities is January 22, 2024, at 10:00 EET.
In November 2023, KN completed the procedure for the allocation of 9 TWh long-term regasification capacity for the Klaipeda LNG terminal, securing full occupancy of the terminal until 2033.
At the time, the Klaipeda terminal operator said the procedure showed a high demand for LNG terminal services with potential customers expressing intention to purchase more than twice as much terminal capacity as offered by KN.
To note, KN started 2024 by officially changing its name to KN Energies to reflect the company’s new long-term strategy to follow the path of sustainable energy by switching from fossil fuels to new types of energy. Moreover, the name is aimed at international markets where KN is establishing itself.
