MSC Euribia, MSC Cruises’ second LNG-powered cruise ship, has been fueled with LNG during its inaugural port to Cadiz port in Spain.

In what has been described as another milestone for MSC Euribia, the vessel became the first cruise ship to be fueled with LNG at this Spanish port.

LNG was provided by marine fuel supplier Peninsula ahead of MSC Euribia’s 13-night voyage to Hamburg, Germany, with visits en route to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Madeira, Portugal, and the UK.

The cruise ship was delivered by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique to MSC Cruises on May 31, 2023, and began operations in June 2023.

In September 2023, MSC Cruises reported that during the world’s first net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions cruise ship voyage MSC Euribia achieved an overall saving of 43 tonnes of bio-LNG fuel.
