Paris-based company CGG has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago to update 3D seismic data from deepwater blocks off the coast of Trinidad.
CGG will deliver improved images of seismic data from deepwater blocks 25a, 25b, 26, and 27 in the eastern Columbus Basin.
The French company will utilize its TL-FWI imaging technology to deliver improved images of more than 5,500 km2 of 3D seismic data. This effort aims to deepen the understanding of the geological systems in this lesser-explored part of the basin.
The project has received support from the industry and is scheduled to provide initial results by late February 2024. Furthermore, the agreement involves producing well and geological products delivered through CGG’s GeoWells platform.

In terms of recent news coming from CGG, the company earlier this month signed a commercial cooperation agreement in carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) with Dutch C-Questra.
