Greek Corinth Pipeworks, the steel pipes segment of Cenergy Holdings, has secured a contract with TechnipFMC to deliver steel pipes for Aker BP’s development in the North Sea.
Corinth Pipeworks will deliver 27 kilometers of high-frequency welded (HFW) steel pipes for the Utsira High Project development in the North Sea.
The pipes will be manufactured at the company’s facilities in Greece, while the scope of supply also includes an external three-layer polypropylene coating applied at the same location as pipe manufacturing at Thisvi, Greece.
The Utsira High Project is a bundle of two separate subsea tie-in projects, Symra and Solveig, in the central part of the North Sea. Symra will be a tie-in to the Ivar Aasen platform, while Solveig Phase 2 will be connected to the Edvard Grieg platform.
The project is said to develop recoverable resources of 93 million barrels of oil equivalent. Drilling will commence in the third quarter of 2025, while production start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 for Solveig and the first quarter of 2027 for Symra.
The total investments are estimated at approximately NOK 16 billion (over $1.5 billion) in real terms.
TechnipFMC won the integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (iEPCI) contract for Utsira High at the beginning of 2023.
