Reach Subsea has sea-launched the first unit of its Reach Remote fleet of uncrewed 24-meter surface vessels (USVs), which will, as the Norwegian company says, “revolutionize offshore subsea operations, aligning with sustainability initiatives” .
The first Reach Remote unit was sea-launched on Monday, March 25. According to Reach Subsea, the team will now proceed with HAT and prepare for SAT.
“With all the dedication and effort from our team, I am thrilled to announce that we have successfully launched our first Reach Remote vessel!” said Bjørg Mathisen Døving , VP of Reach Remote.
“This achievement signifies a significant milestone for Reach Subsea. Together, we have turned our ambitions into reality, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished. I am excited to see where this journey takes us next. Congratulations to everyone involved!”
The Reach Remote fleet features hull-mounted survey sensors and a work-class electric remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The vessels are scheduled for deployment this year.
Kongsberg Maritime leads the forefront of USV design, while the Masters of Massterly, a collaborative venture between Kongsberg and Wilhelmsen, is in charge of maneuvering the USVs and controlling the remote and autonomous control systems.
In the latest financial results, Jostein Alendal, CEO of Reach Subsea, said that the company was experiencing a high organic growth potential in the foundation it had set the past years and that the company was “very optimistic for the years ahead” .
To remind, the Norwegian firm reported record-high numbers for the fourth quarter of 2023 and the whole year, with all parameters driven by growth, improved pricing, and strong project execution.
