Argeo has secured its fifth patent from the Norwegian Industrial Patent office, this time for an innovative sensor configuration for subsea vehicles said to provide higher reliability, better signal, and improved detection.
Argeo reported that its wholly-owned subsidiary Argeo Robotics had been granted a new patent from the Norwegian Industrial Patent office (Patentstyret) for the innovative design of the high-performance electromagnetic system Argeo Listen.
According to the company, the Argeo Listen system has been in commercial use for over a year and has demonstrated excellent performance in pipeline inspections for major oil & gas clients and for several customers in the marine mineral exploration space.
It is said to enable contactless and continuous inspection of buried subsea pipelines and to detect damage and the integrity of corrosion protection systems for even buried pipelines not accessible with conventional contact methods used from remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
This patent marks the fifth grant for Argeo from its Intellectual Rights portfolio under Argeo Robotics since its listing in 2021.

In terms of other recent news coming from Argeo, the Norwegian company earlier this month secured a contract with Australian energy major Woodside Energy to deliver a survey for a deepwater field in Trinidad and Tobago.
The work will be carried out by Argeo Searcher and the project will occupy the vessel for approximately 60 days, not including any additional work.
