Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has landed a new assignment for one of its harsh environment jack-up rigs with Harbour Energy, a London-listed oil and gas player, for well intervention work on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
Spanning 30-70 days, the Noble Resilient rig’s new job with Harbour Energy for well intervention operations in the UK sector of the North Sea is anticipated to kick off in July 2024.
This assignment will begin in direct continuation of the rig’s current program with Wintershall Dea in Denmark and before the start of its previously disclosed 120-day deal with Petrogas.
Blake Denton , Noble’s SVP of Marketing and Contracts, commented: “By securing this contract with Harbour Energy for a CNS platform in the UK, we are creating a smoother transition between these two important projects. We very much appreciate the opportunity to support Harbour Energy.”
The 2009-built Noble Resilient jack-up rig is of Gusto MSC CJ50 X100 MC design. With a maximum drilling depth of 30,000 ft, the jack-up can operate in water depths of up to 350 ft.
The deal with Harbour comes shortly after the offshore drilling player won a contract in Spain, where one of its jack-up rigs will embark on plug and abandonment (P&A) activities.
Noble also got a hold of multimillion-dollar assignments in Q1 2024 for its rig fleet, bringing its total backlog to $4.4 billion.
