Second order lands on Huisman's desk for new subsea crane

Huisman has secured a contract with a company that is part of a Malaysia-based integrated oil & gas services and energy infrastructure solutions provider for the delivery of a deepwater knuckle boom crane.

Huisman recently introduced its optimized knuckle boom crane series , designed specifically for the offshore subsea construction market. It has a lifting capacity of 100mt and features a deepwater winch and active heave compensation, and can be delivered fully electric, with patented electrical integration with the vessel’s battery banks.

This contract represents the company’s first with Coastal International Marine, part of the Coastal Contracts Bhd. Group, and second for this series as it had received an order in March from a Japanese construction company for a similar 100mt crane to be integrated into its latest cable-lay and construction vessel.

The crane and winch will be manufactured in Asia to ensure a short delivery time for Coastal International Marine.

“We are grateful for Coastal International Marine’s trust and confidence in awarding this order to Huisman. Since introducing our improved and competitive Huisman Knuckle Boom Cranes, we have had productive discussions with them, and we are delighted to welcome them as a new client,” said Timon Ligterink , Commercial Director APAC of Huisman.
