Dutch survey company Deep BV has expanded its survey capacity with the conversion of a multi-purpose support vessel, built in 2016, into a survey vessel.

Deep BV announced it had completed the conversion of the multi-purpose support vessel Miranda from Van Laar Maritime into a survey vessel, with focus on sustainable operations with reduced environmental impact.

The company has a long-term charter since November 2023 and has already completed multiple projects.

The 37.5-meter-long vessel, which offers accommodation for 12 persons, features a gondola with integrated Dual Head MBES/SBP/USBL and a 5T SWL A-Frame for towing the new 6×2 Iron Lady UXO Gradio setup.

According to the Dutch company, the vessel features acoustically silent diesel-electric propulsion, minimizing noise pollution and enhancing operational efficiency.

“This conversion of the Miranda reflects our ongoing dedication to provide high quality clean data while maintaining a focus on sustainability and innovation. We are excited about the new capabilities this vessel brings to our fleet and look forward to the successful projects it will help us deliver,” Deep BV said.
