Brazilian oil and gas player Enauta has stopped production from a floating, production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel working on at its field off the coast of Brazil.
A production stoppage has been initiated for the FPSO Petrojarl I , which has been deployed at the Atlanta field in Brazilian waters since 2018, to carry out adjustments related to selected equipment maintenance after inspections at the process plant.
The Enauta Energia-operated Atlanta field is located in block BS-4 in the Santos Basin, at a 1,500-meter water depth. According to the operator, production at the field is expected to resume in the next weeks of June 2024.
Currently, the Brazilian firm is working on replacing the FPSO Petrojarl I with the FPSO Atlanta , which was bought for Atlanta’s Full Development System (FDS) in 2022. The naming ceremony for the FPSO was held at the Dubai Drydocks World shipyard on December 13, 2023.
The vessel reached Brazil in May 2024 , enabling the start-up of activities to connect the FPSO to the wells at the field. With 19 out of 20 anchor installations completed, activities to connect the first two wells to the FPSO Atlanta are slated to kick off next week.
Enauta believes that all operations are on track to enable the first oil from the FPSO Atlanta in August 2024, initially with six wells online, reaching ten wells in 2029. This FPSO can store 1.6 million barrels of oil and process 50,000 barrels of oil and 140,000 barrels of water per day.
