Petrobras gives $245 million worth of contracts to three Solstad vessels

Norway’s Solstad Offshore has secured multiple contract awards with Brazilian oil and gas giant Petrobras that have a combined value of approximately NOK 2.6 billion (around $245 million).

Petrobras has contracted the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Poseidon and anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels Normand Sagaris and Normand Ferking , all owned by Solstad Maritime , in which Solstad Offshore holds a 31.6% ownership share.

Normand Poseidon secured a four-year firm contract scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2024, in continuation of its current charter with Petrobras.

The two AHTSs have each been awarded a three-year firm contract, with Normand Sagaris scheduled to commence in Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 and, additionally, its current contract with Petrobras has been extended until November 2024, while Normand Ferking will commence its contract in Q2 2025.

“We are very pleased to announce these contract awards from Petrobras in Brazil,” said Lars Peder Solstad , CEO at Solstad Offshore. “We have worked with Petrobras since 1996 and Solstad is well positioned to take on more work in the buoyant Brazilian offshore market.”

Solstad won new contracts last month for three CSVs and one AHTS vessel with a gross value of approximately NOK 800 million (around $72.9 million), with two vessels set to work in Asia and two in West African waters.

It was also recently reported that Normand Sentinel , one of the largest CSVs in the company’s fleet is to receive an energy-efficient upgrade said to allow “dramatic energy savings” .
