Switzerland-headquartered offshore pipeline installation, heavy lift, and subsea construction contractor Allseas is months away from embarking on a subsea pipeline assignment in the Caribbean.

The Swiss player’s scope of work entails mattress installation and pre- and post-lay survey of a pipeline, running at a water depth of 60-70 meters, that will tie back from a new installation to an existing installation. No financial details about the deal have been disclosed.

Since Allseas will use its Lorelay dynamically positioned pipelay vessel for this assignment, the ship will head to the Caribbean at the end of the year to perform a platform-to-platform installation of the 22-kilometer, 16-inch diameter line off the east coast of Trinidad.

The start of pipelay activities is planned for November. According to the Swiss firm, this contract award reinforces its ability to take on complex pipelay projects with fast-track planning and execution scopes.

In October 2023, Allseas secured a contract to construct a subsea pipeline for the Porthos CO2 storage project in the Netherlands, with the pipelay job slated to be executed by Lorelay in 2025, with construction support from Oceanic.

Recently, one of the company’s vessels completed a pipeline gig on a natural gas development project off the coast of Australia. A few days ago, the firm was hired to install pipeline and integrated structures at an oil and natural gas field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
