Singapore’s shipbuilding group has secured a two-year contract with Angelicoussis Group, the largest shipping group in Greece, which includes the refit of ten to fifteen vessels per year, comprising liquified natural gas (LNG) carriers, tankers, and bulk carriers.
As informed, the partnership will involve close cooperation in joint planning, information exchange, and experience sharing with the Angelicoussis Group.
Together, both companies will strive to achieve sustainable targets in quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE), Seatrium noted.
The “favoured customer contract”, signed this week in Greece, includes an option to renew for a further twelve months.
Angelicoussis Group has one of the world’s largest privately-owned fleets with 141 ships operating under Maran Gas, Maran Tankers, and Maran Dry.

Recently, the Singapore-based company was hired by Korean liquefied natural gas (LNG) player Hyundai LNG Shipping for repairs and upgrades of LNG carriers in its fleet. The deal includes responsibilities in joint planning, information, and experience sharing.
In February this year, Seatrium secured a carbon capture and storage (CCS) retrofit contract from Norwegian shipowner Solvang ASA. The initiative involves retrofitting of a 7MW Wärtsilä CCS system onto Solvang’s ethylene carrier Clipper Eris. The system is expected to capture an impressive 70% of CO2 emissions from the main engine by using amine cleaning technology.
