Tekmar Energy, a part of Tekmar Group, has secured a contract worth €4 million (over $4.3 million) to design and supply its generation 10 cable protection system (CPS) product and associated ancillaries for a European wind farm.

CPS units will be installed across a European wind farm project, with manufacturing at the group’s Newton Aycliffe facility in the UK. Tekmar Group will use its in-house subsea analysis to support the project, which starts immediately and will be completed by December 2025.

“This contract, where we are partnering with a new customer, is testament to our strong in-house engineering capabilities, which enable us to address customers’ complex engineering requirements and optimise and de-risk projects,” said Alasdair MacDonald, CEO of Tekmar Group.

“The award helps consolidate our strong position in the European offshore wind market and reflects the strength of our working relationships with project developers and key supply chain partners. We look forward to supporting our partners in successfully delivering this project.”

Tekmar did not reveal any other details about the contract, but did state that it was “partnering with a new customer.”

Managing Director of Tekmar Energy, Marc Bell , said “Our team has demonstrated remarkable effort and dedication to secure this significant contract. The collaboration and hard work from everyone involved will be pivotal in meeting the high standards and expectations of our new customer. We are committed to leveraging our expertise and resources to ensure a successful delivery by December 2025 and we look forward to collaborating on future projects with this new partner together”.

In March 2024, Tekmar Group unveiled that their financial performance for the 2023 financial year improved, with a revenue of £39.9 million, compared to £30.2 million in FY22.
