Landmark, a business line of U.S.-headquartered oilfield services giant Halliburton for data-driven tech solutions and services in the oil and gas industry, has signed an agreement with compatriot edge computing platform Armada aiming to help the former maximize its features.
The duo has signed an iEnergy partner agreement, allowing Armada to join Halliburton’s iEnergy Ecosystem, described as the engineered cloud that connects the field to the boardroom, by deploying, integrating, and managing exploration and production (E&P) cloud applications across the enterprise. The collaboration aims to unlock the full capability of Halliburton’s DecisionSpace365 and other third-party applications at the edge.

Recent developments in the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and satellite connectivity have enabled Armada to build what it believes to be the first full-stack edge computing platform. In addition to an end-to-end software platform called the Commander serving as a single source of data for all of a company’s edge operations, Armada offers a complete hardware solution for edge computing in remote areas – Galleon. This data center-in-a-box can be deployed anywhere in the world, leveraging Starlink as needed for satellite backhaul.

Late last year, Halliburton partnered with Sekal to jointly provide well construction automation solutions. The duo agreed to collaborate on technologies and services that incorporate Halliburton’s digitally integrated well construction solutions and Sekal’s DrillTronics automation platform.
The U.S. firm also joined forces with Oil States Industries to allow customers more control over deepwater managed pressure drilling (MPD) equipment, control systems, and services.
