Abu Dhabi-headquartered Ocean Oilfield Integrated Solutions has wrapped up the quinquennial special periodic survey (SPS) and refurbishment work on one of its rigs at Khalifa Port, KEZAD, Abu Dhabi.

According to the UAE player, the scope of work carried out on the B152 jack-up rig, which arrived at the firm’s Abu Dhabi shipyard three months ago, included five-yearly SPS, spud-can repair, leg repair, jetting line repair, UWILD, steel and piping renewal, helideck upgrade, rig cranes overhauling and testing, and main engine full overhaul. The previous SPS was carried out by IMCC in 2019.

“A special appreciation to the whole Project Team for their exceptional efforts in ensuring the successful completion of this project within the designated timeframe, while maintaining high levels of Quality and adhering to standard HSE Practices,” said Sameer Mohammed , Ocean Oilfield’s Managing Director and CEO.

The B152 drilling rig was mobilized to an undisclosed location offshore Abu Dhabi, UAE, and started its operation on July 12, 2024. The 1982-built rig was sold to an unnamed client in 2020 by Borr Drilling , who stayed on as operator. The rig was under contract with ADNOC in the UAE at the time.

Late last year, Ocean Oilfield started a maintenance and upgrade job on two jack-up barges owned by GMS, while earlier this year, its Aras Driller jack-up rig finished a plug and abandonment (P&A) program at an offshore field in the UAE for Sinochem’s Atlantis (UAQ) Limited.
