France-based floating solar company HelioRec has earned B Corporation (BCorp) certification from B Lab, a nonprofit organization that certifies companies for their social and environmental impact, marking its commitment to a more sustainable and equitable future.

HelioRec said it is now recognized for meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

The company said it had achieved an overall B Impact score of 109.1, above the median score of 50.9 for ordinary businesses.

“We want to express our gratitude to our incredible team, partners, and supporters who have been with us every step of the way,” said HelioRec .

“As a B Corp, we are more committed than ever to driving positive change, promoting sustainability, and making a meaningful impact.”

HelioRec builds floating solar power plants for near-shore locations with a mission that revolves around decarbonizing energy generation methods by harnessing solar energy through floating solar technology.

In June, HelioRec finished the inspection of its 25 kW floating solar power plant located at Brest Port, France. According to HelioRec, the inspection was thorough, covering all aspects of the floating solar power plant.

The 25 kW floating solar plant was installed back in October 2023 . HelioRec said that the installation was conducted in challenging conditions, as the Port of Brest experiences extreme tidal changes, with tides reaching up to seven meters.
