Luxembourg-domiciled Subsea7 has won a “sizeable” contract for subsea infrastructure in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, described as one worth between $50 and $150 million.
The scope of work involves engineering, procurement, construction, and offshore installation (EPCI) of a water injection flowline, hull piping, and related subsea infrastructure.
Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea7’s Houston, Texas, office, with offshore operations slated for 2026.
In April, Subsea7 secured a contract with Talos Energy to work on a subsea tie-back of a commercial oil and natural gas discovery to an existing tension leg platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico.
Within this project , Subsea7 is to install the flowline and related subsea equipment at a depth of 500 meters, with its Houston office overseeing project management and installation engineering. Offshore work is set to begin later this year.
The contract came shortly after one secured with Woodside Energy for a deepwater oil project in the area . In terms of other recent news from Subsea7, in late July, the company conducted the first offshore trial of its initiative to eliminate hydraulic leaks in subsea diving operations by developing advanced electric tools. Subsea7 tested the prototype at a depth of 141 meters in the North Sea, where saturation divers noted good performance in setup, handling, and power.
