Norway’s vessel owner DOF Group has secured a new long-term assignment for one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs) off the coast of Australia, which enables the ship to remain in the country after wrapping up its five-year job with Esso Australia, an Australian affiliate of ExxonMobil.

With a value between $25 and $50 million, the multimillion-dollar contract with an operator that DOF describes as an international oil company (IOC) is expected to enable the PSV Skandi Feistein to continue with the current client on a new 18-month firm contract with a further 18-months extension option.

As the PSV has been working for Esso Australia since the second half of 2019 , the Norwegian vessel owner’s announcement implies that the new assignment is also with the same company. The new deal is slated to start in direct continuation of the existing contract, contributing to maintaining DOF’s presence in Australia. The 2011-built Skandi Feistein can accommodate 26 people.

The Norwegian player has won multiple new deals in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region over the past few months, including one for a multi-purpose subsea vessel with construction support vessel (CSV) features based on a modern anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) ship design.

The firm also got an extension and a new deal for its 2011-built dive support vessel (DSV) in the APAC region, shortly after another one of the firm’s subsea vessels prolonged its work until mid-2028.
