Norway-based ocean services provider DeepOcean and Scotland-based well management company EXCEED have entered a partnership to deliver vessel-based well plug and abandonment (P&A) services to the global decommissioning market.
According to DeepOcean, the collaboration leverages the company’s subsea engineering expertise and a fleet of work-class remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) and subsea vessels alongside EXCEED’s specialization in well decommissioning.
Together, the companies will provide operators with a comprehensive, single-contract P&A solution, including all equipment, planning, execution, and audit-compliant close-out, with an eye toward efficient asset repurposing and re-use.

DeepOcean and EXCEED recently completed a multi-well, vessel-based P&A campaign for Serica Energy , achieving time and cost savings, alongside CO2 emission reductions compared to traditional rig-based P&A operations.

According to DeepOcean, EXCEED’s vessel-based decommissioning team focuses on compliant subsea wellhead removal, offering clients reduced post-decommissioning liabilities and cost benefits via a campaign model.
Just recently, Deepocean expanded its several years of work for oil and gas company Vår Energi, securing a new contract for 2025 to work in the Barents Sea and North Sea.
