Glander International Bunkering, a subsidiary of Bunker Holding, in collaboration with South Korea’s SK Trading, has arranged a supply of B24 biofuel in Singapore.
On December 8, 2024, Glander International said it delivered 250 metric tons of B24 biofuel in Singapore through SK Trading, marking “another important step toward reducing carbon emissions in the maritime industry”.
The company further noted it is capable of supplying second-generation biofuels in more than 100 ports worldwide.

Biofuels are seen as a convenient way for shipping companies to reduce their carbon emissions due to their ability to be used as a ‘drop-in fuel’.
In Singapore, significant progress was reported in bunker sales of biofuel blends which increased to 520,000 tonnes in 2023 from 140,000 tonnes in 2022, representing a threefold increase.

The first marine biofuel trial involving an ocean-going vessel in Singapore was carried out in April 2021.
In 2024, Vitol Bunkers, a wholly-owned bunker arm of energy and commodities company Vitol, took delivery of its first specialized biofuel bunker barge, Marine Future , in Singapore, enabling the supply of biofuel blends including B24, B30, and up to B100.
Just recently, Hong Kong-based bunker service provider Chimbusco Pan Nation Petro-Chemical (CPN) delivered 1,000 metric tons of B24 marine biofuel for Taiwan-based shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation’s 145,400 dwt containership YM Witness in Singapore.
