Singapore-based shipbuilder Strategic Marine has delivered its first surface effect ship (SES) to All Energies Services (AES), an operator of offshore supply vessels focusing on the West African and Middle East markets.

The shipbuilder describes the delivery of the first of three vessels – Energy Craft 3514-01 – to AES as a “groundbreaking” advancement in the offshore oil and gas sector, marking a major step in its collaboration with AIRCAT Vessels and ESNA. The plan to build three 35-meter vessels was disclosed in May 2024 .

According to Strategic Marine, its vessel, dubbed “revolutionary,” has been designed to redefine high-speed crew transfer in the offshore oil and gas industry. It has been designed to reduce transit times, cut emissions, and improve sustainability in line with the evolving needs of the maritime industry.

Chan Eng Yew , CEO of Strategic Marine, noted: “This vessel represents a significant leap forward in comfort, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, and we look forward to further expanding our capabilities of building SES vessels in the years to come. Our ongoing partnership with AIRCAT and ESNA has been instrumental in making this vision a reality, and we anticipate continued success as we push the boundaries of what’s possible in crew transfer operations.”

With reinforced hull and SES active motion dampening technology, the vessel ensures what are said to be safe and efficient transfers, while reaching a speed of over 50 knots and operating in seas up to 2.5 meters. Additionally, thanks to its active air cushion, the noise and vibration levels are low while underway.

The Singaporean player recently delivered the fourth-generation Amarco S1 fast crew boat (FCB) to Brunei’s Amarco. The vessel is intended for long-term operations in the country’s offshore oil and gas sector.
