Norway-based cleantech service provider Soiltech has secured a contract with Southeastern Europe’s integrated energy player OMV Petrom to deliver cuttings containment, transfer equipment and related services for what is said to be the largest natural gas project in the Romanian Black Sea.
The contract for the Neptun Deep project has been concluded for a period of five years, with an initial estimated contract value of $10 million for an estimated duration of 18 months and commencement anticipated this year.
The services will be performed on the drilling rig Transocean Barents.
Soiltech ASA and Soiltech Romania SRL will deliver a range of technologies for handling drill cuttings, including equipment for storage on the rig and on the platform supply vessels (PSVs), as well as tools for cleaning the rig’s and vessel’s storage tanks.

Some week ago, Soiltech also announced it had received a call-off order under the frame agreement with Norwegian state-owned Equinor to provide drilling waste management services on the Grane field in Norway, located about 185 kilometers west of Haugesund.
The services cover offshore provision of solid waste (drill cuttings) handling, with expected startup in the first quarter of 2025.
The frame agreement with Equinor has a duration until June 2026, option periods excluded, potentially 2034 including all option periods.
Soiltech said that the contract is a large one, having an estimated value above NOK 20 million ($1.8 million) over 12 months.
Last year, Soiltech won a contract with Equinor for the treatment of contaminated water on its floating storage unit (FSU) Njord Bravo, as well as a solid waste management contract for the Statfjord B platform.
