India’s Seamec Limited has entered into a charter hire with a Saudi Arabian company under which its multipurpose diving support vessel (DSV) will be deployed in the Middle East.
Seamec entered into a Bimco charter party with Safeen Al Behar Limited Company, Saudi Arabia, for the charter hire of Seamec Swordfish for work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The charter hire will be for a firm period of 730 days with the option for extension on mutually agreed terms. It is set to commence between March 1 and March 30.
The total value for the firm period is $57.40 million
Seamec, which bought the vessel from James Fisher and Sons back in 2022, said that Swordfish is specifically designed for saturation diving, ROV, survey and crane operations in adverse weather conditions, and is suited for offshore installations of subsea hardware, complex deepwater inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM), and well-intervention services.
The 103.7-meter-long vessel was built in 2007 by Kleven Verft, Norway, and can accommodate 100 persons.
