Norwegian vessel owner DOF Group has secured two subsea construction projects for its subsea vessel Skandi Implementer in the Gulf of Mexico/America with two international oil companies.
Skandi Implementer, which recently departed Mexico following contract termination after payment default from a client, will complete the integration of survey services and two of DOF’s remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) late this month before starting the project mobilization.
The total expected duration is approximately two months.
“We are pleased to be able to quickly secure work for Skandi Implementer following the recent contract termination,” said Mons Aase , CEO of DOF Group.
“Beyond contributing with asset utilization and backlog, these contract awards represent advancing another of our I-class vessels into our subsea project business in line with our plan to add subsea service scopes to our most recent additions to the fleet through the DOF Denmark transaction.”
The 2018-built Skandi Implementer was designed for subsea construction, inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) and ROV services up to 3,000 meters of depth. The 137.6-meter-long vessel offers accommodation to 129 persons.
DOF recently announced the increase in its backlog for the Asia-Pacific region to over $30 million, following two new subsea contracts .
