Norwegian marine geoscience and technology company Shearwater Geoservices has secured a contract from ExxonMobil Guyana, a subsidiary of the U.S.-headquartered ExxonMobil, for a large deepwater 4D ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic survey.
According to Shearwater Geoservices, the survey is set to begin in the first half of 2025.
The six-month reservoir surveillance program will involve a Shearwater seismic vessel as the source vessel, along with a dual remotely operated vehicle (ROV) vessel for node deployment.

In December 2024, Shearwater Geoservices was awarded a large 2D towed streamer seismic survey contract by Oil India Limited (OIL), covering 14,500 line kilometers off India’s East Coast in the Bay of Bengal.
