Norwegian offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore has secured more work for one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs).

While revealing a contract award for the PSV Viking Princess , Eidesvik Offshore explains that the vessel has been picked by three operators – DNO Norge , Sval Energi (another DNO subsidiary), and Wellesley Petroleum . The operations are scheduled to begin in January 2026.

This covers a campaign with the Deepsea Yantai semi-submersible drilling rig, estimated at 300-365 days. The Norwegian vessel owner underlines that the work relates to the plugging and abandonment (P&A) of one well and drilling of four consecutive wells.

The 2013-built PSV Viking Princess , constructed at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, is of a VS489 PSV LNG design. Eidesvik claims that the PSV was the world’s first offshore vessel with a battery hybrid energy storage solution replacing a traditional generator.

The ship was also equipped with a shore power system in November 2021. The latest contract comes after the Norwegian shipowner won contract extensions for two PSVs with Aker BP.
