Norway-based cleantech service provider Soiltech has won a new assignment to perform fluid treatment and other services on a semi-submersible rig managed by Odfjell Drilling, an offshore drilling contractor.

Thanks to a contract with an estimated value above NOK 20 million (approximately $2 million), Soiltech will carry out fluid treatment, onshore waste handling, and associated services on the Deepsea Yantai harsh environment semi-submersible rig.

This unit is working on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), under contracts with DNO, Wellesley Petroleum, and Well Expertise. The start-up of the deal is scheduled to be in the first quarter of 2026, with an expected duration until year-end 2026.

Jan Erik Tveteraas , Soiltech’s CEO, commented: “We look forward to working with our clients on these exciting projects. By utilising our market-leading treatment technologies, we can reduce and recover waste in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner, enabling more sustainable project execution and responsible resource management.”

The 2019-built Deepsea Yantai , formerly known as the Beacon Atlantic, GM4D rig is capable of harsh environment operation. This semi-submersible is owned by China’s CIMC and managed by Odfjell Drilling.

The latest deal follows two recent ones Soiltech secured to deliver fluid treatment (STT) services on a floater and fluid treatment and solid waste management on Noble’s jack-up rig.
