Marine energy technology and project solutions provider ORPC has completed testing activities that had the goal of improving installation, operation and maintenance of its megawatt-scale tidal energy device.
The testing, wrapped up at the end of 2025, was part of the ORPC-led LOGIC-Tide research and development project focused on the development of the Optimor tidal energy device.
The two-year project was conducted in partnership with EireComposites, University of Galway and Rockall Research, and funded by Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
It included testing innovative design solutions to improve installation, operation and maintenance of the device, with a focus on optimizing the foil design of ORPC’S cross-flow turbine technology, the company said.
