Evos Rotterdam, a European provider of storage infrastructure for liquid energy and chemicals, established in 2019, has kicked off an expansion project for (low-carbon) methanol and ethanol storage at the Port of Rotterdam.
The project will see the construction of five new storage tanks with a combined gross capacity of 67,500 cubic meters, a new pump station and a new jetty, to be built by Port of Rotterdam.

Evos said that this will allow it to expand its handling of methanol and ethanol, serving traditional industrial markets and the growing demand for alternative, cleaner marine fuels for bunkering.
“It is a strategic investment by Evos that strengthens the role of our Rotterdam terminal as a leading hub for methanol and ethanol today, while preparing our infrastructure for the rapid scaleup of low-carbon marine fuels tomorrow,” said Daan Vos , CEO of Evos.

The project is expected to become operational in early 2028.

Evos operates a network of eight tank terminals located across six ports in five countries, with a combined storage capacity of 6.3 million cubic meters. Its terminals are located in the Netherlands (two in Amsterdam, and one in Rotterdam and Terneuzen), Belgium (Ghent), Germany (Hamburg), Malta and Spain (Algeciras).
The company is owned by investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
